Need a BS degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred. Advanced degree or MBA is desirable. Requires 20+ years in Maintenance Management in large chemical operations or refining.

Mechanical Engineer - Piping Design & Plant Layout

Job Responsibilities include:

* Provide Mechanical Design functional leadership throughout the company, leading the development of plot plans and equipment arrangements, and participating in the development of P&ID's

* Participates in the development of front-end packages for outsourced projects. Oversees on-going mechanical design work for accuracy, adherence to scope, workability, economy and compliance with standards and specifications

* Provide internal mechanical design consulting to global facilities and develops equipment specifications

* Monitor and review contractor design activities and implement necessary corrective actions, and maintain engineering standards, specifications and piping specifications

* Prepares, or reviews and approves the preparation of, purchase requisitions for specialty mechanical equipment

* Work with Project Managers to develop project execution plans and select contractors

* Evaluate and process new equipment and supplies (piping, valves, etc...) being offered in the industry

 

Essentials Qualifications:

* BS Mechanical Engineering

* 10 to 15 years Mechanical Engineering experience in the Chemical Process Industry or similar industry

* Minimum 10 years experience in Piping Desing and Plant Layout

* Design and Evaluation experience with piping systems and ASME B31.3 Code
